WHERE OUR STORY BEGINS.

For over 150 years, the Butler Eagle has brought you real stories of real people in Butler County, Pennsylvania. Our goal has always been to get both sides of the story.

On February 5th 2024 we introduced Alter Eagle: a new podcast bringing your voice to the county’s story. The goal of this podcast is to highlight local perspectives, resources and history, while also stepping outside of the country from time to time. Tune in weekly with our host Laura Crago as she tackles everything from mental health, education, and going deep on personal stories of triumph.

We followed up with a re-branding of our sports podcast from 2022 under the Alter Eagle umbrella and on August 15th 2024 we launched Eye On Sports. Hosted by sports writer Derek Pyda who is joined by sports writer Brendan Howe and sports editor Jake Adams. Weekly the guys sit down and discuss local high school sports, with a focus on football for the fall. Segments such as staff picks, predictions, Brendan’s beyond butler segment and stump Derek; a weekly trivia questions for the all knowing sports fanatic.
